Abstract

Edith Stein is not a feminist, as we understand that concept today. But she is very much concerned with being a woman. Philosophy and, especially, faith helped her to express this search. The specificity of woman is receptivity, fertility. The vocation of the human person springs from faith, and both men and women collaborate. It is important for women to develop their feminine being. Men and women are equal in dignity. It is not necessary to erase the differences, but rather, point out their complementary and original nature.
