Human paternity makes up a participation of God’s paternity, from which “every family in heaven and on earth comes” (Eph 3, 15). Dr. Antonio Rendic did not have any children, but he was awarded with a number of sons in his spirit. Their testimonies are very revealing. They call him the “holy buddy” and ask him for favors. Who is this doctor and poet who lived and died surrounded by a reputation of sanctity? Why has the Church opened his beatification process and is now invoked as a servant of God? Putting the heart where there is human misery –for Jesus Christ’s sake–, curing the sick in body and soul, and healing the wounds of existence are the seal of this doctor of the poor. After his death, Dr. Rendic proved to be an extraordinary advocator. Therefore, letting other know about his life is an act of mercy to the new generations.
