What north, what church, and what christians; A perspective from social pastoral work.

Thinking of the church from northern Chile is a challenge and a lifelong perspective, requiring the con?uence of geographic, socio-political and identity factors proper of the region to re?ect about the Good News spread by the Church, particularly in the dialogue with national and local contingency and the questioning that political life and work activity make in this case, as evangelization ambits.
This paper deals with some coordinates of that cultural geography and also propose criteria to provide certain guidelines for pastoral action.
